Help Test EdOpt’s New AI Assistant (Beta)

Teenage boy and girl smiling, looking at a computer and writing in a notebook, with iced coffee on the table. Two other scenes with children at the bottom. Image of a phone overlays it all.

Finding the right education path for your child in New Hampshire can feel overwhelming. There are so many options — public schools, charter schools, private schools, homeschooling, Education Freedom Accounts, enrichment programs — and it’s hard to know where to start.

That’s why we’re building the EdOpt AI Assistant.

We’re launching a beta version today, and we need your help to make it better.

Think of it as having a knowledgeable friend who knows New Hampshire’s education landscape inside and out, available 24/7 to answer your questions and help you explore what’s possible for your family. It’s not perfect yet — but that’s where you come in.

How it works

Just visit https://chatbot.edopt.org/beta and start a conversation. Ask questions like:

  • “What are my homeschool options in Nashua?”
  • “Does my family qualify for an EFA?”
  • “I’m looking for a math tutor near Concord for my 5th grader.”
  • “What’s the difference between withdrawing for home education and using an EFA?”

The Assistant will ask clarifying questions if it needs more details, search for relevant information, and give you clear next steps.

What can the Assistant help you with?

  • Find schools and programs near you. Tell it your town and what you’re looking for — whether that’s a Montessori preschool, a math tutor, a charter school, or a homeschool co-op — and it will search EdOpt’s provider directory to show you local options.
  • Understand Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs). Wondering if your family qualifies? Curious what you can use EFA funds for? The Assistant explains eligibility, priority groups, income thresholds, and how the program works — and points you to the right resources at Children’s Scholarship Fund NH.
  • Navigate NH homeschool requirements. Get clear answers about RSA 193-A notification requirements, annual assessments, and how home education works in New Hampshire.
  • Learn about your education options. Not sure what the difference is between a charter school and a private school? Wondering if homeschooling is right for your family? The Assistant can explain your options and help you weigh the pros and cons.
  • Look up NH education laws and bills. Get answers about compulsory attendance, Learn Everywhere, or pending legislation that might affect your family’s choices.

Why beta?

We’re testing and refining. The Assistant is transparent about what it knows and doesn’t know — it only shares information from EdOpt’s provider directory, New Hampshire’s RSA database, and trusted sources. It won’t make up answers or guess.

But we need you to bang on it. Try to stump it. Ask tough questions. Tell it when something doesn’t make sense or seems wrong. Your feedback is how we make it better for the thousands of New Hampshire families who will use it after you.

Help us build this

Head to https://chatbot.edopt.org/beta and give it a try. We’ll learn a lot from your anonymous interactions. If you’d like, when you’re done, you can email [email protected] to tell us:

  • What worked?
  • What didn’t?
  • What would make it more helpful?

We’re building this tool for you and families like yours. Let’s make it great together.

Test it out today at https://chatbot.edopt.org/beta

P.S. Even though it’s in beta, the Assistant can still help you find real answers and real options for your family. Don’t hold back — use it for your actual questions, and let us know how it goes.

EdOpt’s Goals

EdOpt’s aim is to help families understand all their education options, from non-traditional (homeschooling, homeschool co-ops, microschools) to traditional (charter schools, private schools, tech centers, dual enrollment, learn everywhere). Our website lists the education providers options around the state that we know about (please let us know if we’re missing any!) so you can investigate the ones that you’re interested in. EdOpt also provides guidance to help you understand your options. Set up a FREE Education Options consultation today.
