Description:
Our Forestry Technician course is offered without cost to high school students grades 9+. This is an alternative program that has simply exploded with interest across New Hampshire (literally 10x our expectations!)
We are also the distributors and supporters of New Hampshire Project Learning Tree, a commitment to advancing environmental education, forest literacy, and green career pathways, using trees and forests as windows on the world with curriculum for PreK-12. As part of that outreach, we also offer a Summer Teacher Tour for Educators (homeschool, public, private, alternative) wishing to better understand how to deploy the curriculum.
The Forester Technician Industry Recognized Credential (24 SAF CFE Credits) is an industry recognized credential (IRC) endorsed by Granite State Society of American Foresters. Participants will be introduced to forestry in New Hampshire, learn basic forestry concepts, and demonstrate applying these concepts in the field.
These include:
• Forestry Exploration (1.5 SAF CFE Credits)
• Forestry Basics (8 SAF CFE Credits)
• Field Applications (7.5 SAF CFE Credits)
• Professional Applications (7 SAF CFE Credits)
For an introduction, please see our video.
