Happy new year! π₯³
We’re happy to announce that our first expo of 2025 will be April 1 from 4-6pm in Alton! Thank you to Hal Shurtleff and Pastor Jared Cassidy for organizing it at the Community Church of Alton. π
We will also have an expo on the seacoast, organized by Deb Hobson, probably in June. Lots of details to work out.
We’d like to have expos in Wolfeboro and Conway — would you like to organize it? Can you recommend anyone? Would you like to organize an expo in your area? Please let me know! There are so many areas we haven’t hit yet.
Organizing an expo has a lot of benefits. You will be helping families in your community find education options that suit them. You can provide activities for children so entire families can attend. You can put your stamp on the event. You will meet state representatives and others who care about families and education. You will be part of the solution. And you will have our unending gratitude.
We would like to aim for spring and early summer for all the expos, if possible. This is when most families start planning for the following year. At least one person from EdOpt will attend each expo, and, of course, provide support all along the way.
I’m in the process of updating our Expo Process docs to reflect what we learned in 2024. We already have a list of education providers in each county, draft emails to invite education providers, flyer templates to share, and more! We’re trying to make the process easy to carry out. And we think it’s critical that the organizer be a local.
You know you want to! Let’s talk if you are even thinking about it.
