Most people I talk to don’t know what Microschools, Homeschool Coops, or Learn Everywhere are. Here are some definitions, along with short videos. You can find more details on our website, along with short descriptions and links here. Want more guidance or information? Contact EdOpt.

Microschools

Also called learning centers, learning clubs, learning coops, among other things. Learning centers can take various forms. They might be drop-off centers where students go for part of the day to learn specific subjects or skills, microschool-like programs that operate full-time with small enrollment, or tutoring and enrichment hubs. These centers provide a more flexible or specialized environment for learning, often catering to families seeking alternatives to traditional schools. EdOpt supports families and even aspiring education entrepreneurs by guiding them on how to set up a Learning Center or Microschool and connect with others who have done so.

Homeschool Coops

Homeschool Coops are groups of families who meet regularly to share resources and teach each other’s children in group settings. Parents might take turns leading classes or activities in subjects like science, art, or literature for the group’s children, pool funds to hire instructors for particular topics, or go on field trips together.

Learn Everywhere

Learn Everywhere is a New Hampshire Department of Education program that allows high school students to earn academic credit for learning experiences outside of school. The Learn Everywhere program certifies certain extracurricular programs, private courses, or real-world learning opportunities (e.g. classes from community organizations, internships, apprenticeships) so that the credit earned can count toward public high school graduation.

EdOpt’s aim is to help families understand all their education options, from non-traditional (homeschooling, homeschool co-ops, microschools) to traditional (charter schools, private schools, tech centers, dual enrollment, learn everywhere). Our website lists the education providers options around the state that we know about (please let us know if we’re missing any!) so you can investigate the ones that you’re interested in. EdOpt also provides guidance to help you understand your options. Set up an Education Options consultation today.
